Treatment Options

Colorado Reproductive Endocrinology offers numerous treatment options for infertility problems. Treatments range from medications to assisted reproductive techniques to surgical procedures. Our doctors will work with you to help you decide which treatment option is best for your situation.

Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Services

ART involves various ways of manipulating the menstrual cycle, eggs, and sperm to enhance the chances of becoming pregnant. CRE offers numerous state-of-the art ART services to overcome infertility. These services include in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET), gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT), embryo cryopreservation, micromanipulation, and other related services such as donor egg and sperm programs.

In Vitro Fertilization-Embryo Transfer (IVF-ET)

IVF-ET involves collecting a couple’s eggs and sperm and placing them together in a laboratory dish to fertilize outside of the body. The fertilized eggs are then transferred into the women’s uterus, or womb, where implantation and embryo development may occur.

Gamete Intrafallopian Transfer (GIFT)

GIFT is a variation of the IVF-ET procedure. Instead of fertilizing the eggs and sperm outside the body, a mixture of sperm and eggs (gametes) are placed directly into the fallopian tubes where fertilization may take place.

Other Infertility Services

Depending on your situation, we offer many other services that may be used with IVF-ET and GIFT. These include but are not limited to:

  • Donor sperm and egg programs
  • Embryo cryopreservation (the freezing and thawing of embryos)
  • Micromanipulation (using microscopic instruments to enhance the chances of egg fertilization or embryo implantation)

Other Gynecological Services

In addition to providing services for infertility, CRE provides diagnosis and treatment of other related gynecological problems including:

  • Endometriosis
  • Premenstrual syndrome
  • Fibroids
  • Menopausal problems
  • Excessive hair growth
  • Irregular menstrual cycles
  • Gynecological conditions requiring surgery
  • Other hormonal problems
